I had to begin my holiday post w/Midnight in Moscow as this always signals the kick off to this weekend (for me). It was one of my dad's favs. Holidays were embraced enthusiastically in my family and were celebrated w/ food, family and music. This song was always played while dad cheffed something up in the kitchen, then later, as my children were growing up I would put this on, while I cheffed something up in our kitchen for our family holiday weekend boating/camping get-away adventures, I think it's a way of drawing those close to us who are gone and remembering grand memories shared.
Jeff and I've had great conversation/coffee this morning before he had to cruise on in to work. It's a lovely, lovely morning. Blue skies, sunshine, cool temps.
The Indoor/outdoor gangs will be hanging out w/ me as I putter about the house throughout the day. Playing w/ the new kittens. What's on tap? Planning a new layout for the former dining room that is going to become my new writing room. Deciding on what type of new ceiling fan that will be going into the former living room that is going to be our new dining/sitting room, front window Roman-style blinds, curtains, etc. Reading, movies, and DE cluttering, actually, going through a few boxes to see what is going to be sent off to the thrift store. Working on Samanda's wedding album, ordering prints from Shutterfly, Should be a fun filled day....

Oh yeah. I remember the music. Loved the video that came with it. Oh, those high-steppin' Commies.
